# The form data below was edited by tom_tyler # Perforce Workshop Jobs # # Job: The job name. 'new' generates a sequenced job number. # # Status: Job status; required field. Job: SDP-514 Status: open Project: perforce-software-sdp Severity: C ReportedBy: tom_tyler ReportedDate: 2020/03/06 11:30:05 ModifiedBy: tom_tyler ModifiedDate: 2020/03/06 11:39:19 OwnedBy: tom_tyler Description: Enhance script to safely refresh P4ROOT db.* from offline_db on edge server. This would need an update to the recreate-live-from-offline-db.bat (and really recreate-live-from-offline-db.ps1, the PowerShell script), and also SDP-functions.ps1. It seems reasonable why a customer would want to do the db swap on an edge, for the same reason as on the master. DevNotes: Scripts running on an edge don't have direct control over journal rotation like they do on the master. Might need to involve doing 'p4 -p $P4MASTERPORT admin journal' and interation with the 'journal-rotate-lock' trigger on the edge. Component: core-win Type: Feature
