/*
 * jamgram.yy - jam grammar
 *
 * 04/13/94 (seiwald) - added shorthand L0 for null list pointer
 * 06/01/94 (seiwald) - new 'actions existing' does existing sources
 * 08/23/94 (seiwald) - Support for '+=' (append to variable)
 * 08/31/94 (seiwald) - Allow ?= as alias for "default =".
 * 09/15/94 (seiwald) - if conditionals take only single arguments, so
 * that 'if foo == bar' gives syntax error (use =).
 * 02/11/95 (seiwald) - when scanning arguments to rules, only treat
 * punctuation keywords as keywords. All arg lists
 * are terminated with punctuation keywords.
 *
 * 09/11/00 (seiwald) - Support for function calls:
 *
 * Rules now return lists (LIST *), rather than void.
 *
 * New "[ rule ]" syntax evals rule into a LIST.
 *
 * Lists are now generated by compile_list() and
 * compile_append(), and any other rule that indirectly
 * makes a list, rather than being built directly here,
 * so that lists values can contain rule evaluations.
 *
 * New 'return' rule sets the return value, though
 * other statements also may have return values.
 *
 * 'run' production split from 'block' production so
 * that empty blocks can be handled separately.

# Change User Description Committed
#5 1317 Richard Geiger Update the copyright notices in all files touched in the upcoming
drop into //public/jam/
#4 1306 Richard Geiger Experimental support for '[ on target rule ]' in jam,
so that you can access target-specific variables.  It
is crunchy right now, in that the list of things you can
do inside []'s is limited to (a) user-defined rules and
(b) the "return" statement.

=== computer.perforce.com:1666: Change 21437 by seiwald@golly-seiwald on 2001/03/23 10:43:34

Tweaked my earlier version of documenting [ rule ] to explicitly
show both forms ( [ rule ... ] and [ on targ rule ... ] ) - rmg
#3 1295 Richard Geiger Support for 'while' statement in jam.
 Useful?  Who knows.

=== computer.perforce.com:1666: Change 20250 by seiwald@golly-seiwald on 2001/01/24 15:54:02

Documented in Jam.html - rmg
#2 1288 Richard Geiger Fix typo (swapped params) in compile.c, and update jamgram.c/y
to reflect newest jamgram.yy.

=== computer.perforce.com:1666: Change 20207 by seiwald@golly-seiwald on 2001/01/22 13:32:01

Note: the changes to jamgram.[cy] from the patch were discarded, and
these were rebuilt on the integration platform, since the patch failed
due to differences in the yacc between the "internal" build platform and
the Public Depot integration platform. - rmg
