As one of the two initial qualified
Perforce Consulting Partners (in 1997), Robert has consulted for and trained more
than 20 Perforce customer organisations around the world (he regularly travels in Europe
and elsewhere). He provides:

Perforce Best Practices Fast Start Package

comprehensive and flexible Perforce training

implementation consultancy, including:

migrations from previous SCM
tools (for example, Robert is the curator of the Visual
SourceSafe migration scripts in the Perforce Public Depot)

assisting with planning and
development of appropriate repository structures and branching processes

scripting for the automation of
development processes

project mentoring over the first few months of an implementation

Perforce audits

build system consultancy using

Perforce Best Practices Fast Start Package

So you've decided on Perforce, but that's just the start. Now do you want to:

get your developers productive as quickly as possible with appropriate
training?

use Best Practices from day 1?

avoid making costly mistakes by getting expert advice at the start?

put in solid foundations for future enhancements?

adapt the tool to your processes and requirements?

The Perforce Best Practices Fast Start package incorporates experience
derived from implementing Perforce in many organisations around the world. It
addresses all these issues by showing you how to structure your repository and
identify appropriate branching strategies, how to automate your Perforce-based
development processes and ensure rock solid (but not onerous) administration
procedures are in place. Peppered with tips and tricks, this 3 day Fast Start
package will provide you with all you need to set up and administer your
Perforce installation as well as initial training for your developers. Including
template implementation plans clients have found the package significantly
increases their efficiency and reduces their costs.

Integrations

Robert is the author of P4OFC - the Perforce
plug-in for Microsoft Office. This is a widely used plug-in which makes the
use of Perforce from within Office applications a breeze (including showing the
differences between document versions in Word). He is thus experienced with all aspects of the Perforce
API (see his presentation at the Perforce
User Conference), and is available for integration projects and other
development work.

"Robert reviewed our processes and provided us with excellent insight on
strategic SCM practices with Perforce, such as how to get the best out of branching and
merging."

Andres Torrubia, Chief Technology
Officer, Trymedia Systems, Spain

Perforce Training

Robert regularly conducts training courses
on behalf of Perforce and for Perforce clients. These range from a few hours to 3-day courses (with and without lab
exercises). He gives the public
courses on behalf of Perforce in the UK. The courses are normally tailored to suit
individual company's requirements and very frequently combined with
implementation consultancy and joint workshops.

Courses are available in English, German,
Italian and French.
